About The Quit Number
The Quit Number is published by the FlowLister team. Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice, and this page explains what it is instead.
What is The Quit Number?
The Quit Number (thequitnumber.com) is a free guide and calculator for resellers deciding whether to quit a job and resell full time. It covers four things: the monthly profit you need, the savings you need, health cover when you quit, and the sales, listings and listing hours the plan takes. Its federal tax and health rules were checked against the IRS, the Department of Labor and HealthCare.gov on 2 October 2026.
Who publishes The Quit Number?
The Quit Number is written by the team behind FlowLister, an AI tool that writes eBay listings from photos. It answers the two questions resellers ask before going full time: how much is enough, and how would I know? FlowLister is AI, so it misses things.
Is this financial advice?
No. It's general information and arithmetic. We don't know your income, your obligations, your health, your household or your state, and every one of those changes the answer. Leaving a job is a big decision, and it's worth advice from a professional who can see your actual situation.
How is this content made?
- Every tax and health figure links to its primary source, with the date we read it.
- Worked examples are labelled as examples. We don't present them as typical outcomes.
- Volatile figures, like your tax rate and your premium, are inputs you supply, not numbers we assume for you.
- No income claims, success stories or testimonials.
- No affiliate links, sponsored posts or paid placements.
- FlowLister appears in a labelled disclosure on each page, as the publisher on the home and About pages, and by name in plain text elsewhere only where listing time is the topic.
- Pages are drafted with AI help, and every figure is checked against its source before it's published.
Why does the bias run the other way?
FlowLister makes listing software, so we've tried to write the opposite of a sales pitch: a site that makes the number bigger and the evidence bar higher, because one good quarter isn't evidence.
